This research study aimed to understand how the owners of very small businesses (under 50 employees) were impacted by Covid, including how it affected their bottom lines and influenced their mindsets and approaches to running their businesses in the long term. By conducting qualitative interviews with 10 individual business owners, we sought to unearth unique perspectives to help the insurance industry discover new and novel ways of sustaining and supporting them as they attempted to navigate the new normal brought about by the pandemic.
